Educational Bursary
Application Criteria
- Applicant must be a current member of the CABN and must have been a member for at least one year.
- Executive and Council Members of the CABN may not apply for the bursary
- Monies will be awarded to support burn/wound-related education/research and study i.e. CABN, ABLS, ABA or educational visits to other units.
Administration of the Bursary:
- The deadline for receipt of the Bursary application will be March 1st of each year.
- The amount of the money awarded will be $250.00 annually.
- The application is to be submitted in writing and forwarded to the Chair of the Bursary Subcommittee.
- The Application must include:
- name, address and CABN membership number
- personal goals and objectives for attending the education event
- how the education event will benefit the applicant’s clinical burn nursing practice
- educational event brochure
- date and associated cost of the event
- date applicant last received bursary funding
- if you are receiving funding form another source, if so, how much
- whether the applicant is attending and/or presenting
- The Bursary Subcommittee will review all applications. All decisions regarding the awarding of the bursary rests with them.
- The Chair of the Subcommittee will be responsible for notifying successful applicant.
- Funds will be released once the responsibilities of the recipient have been completed.
Responsibility of Bursary Recipients:
Upon completion and within one month of the funded educational event, the recipient is required to submit a receipt of attendance as well as a written report of the event for inclusion in the next edition of the CABN Newsletter.
